When moving from the Netherlands to New Zealand in 2003, there was no doubt about bringing some well bred Icelandic horses with us: the gelding Biskup frá Wetsinghe and colt Þótti frá Wetsinghe were flown in from the Netherlands.
In 2007 followed by a brood mare born and bred in Iceland, Hugför frá Kópavógi and in 2013 we imported a young colt from Australia, Dökkvi from Haldane Icelandic Horses.
In 2006 we established our boutique company dedicated to Icelandic horses, Skógarrönd LTD.

Keeping, training and breeding Icelandic horses is my passion already for more than 30 years. I like to combine classical riding with other training methods like the 'Ride Like a Viking' program, see also their website https://www.ridelikeaviking.com/. I believe it is very important to understand what makes your horse 'tick', understanding their natural behaviour and implement that in the daily handling. Using the best of both worlds for the good of the horse!
